Lophopodella capensis statoblasts and organic detritus, including charcoal at right, from the sieved sediment subsample from25–26 cm stratigraphic depth, dated to 220–230 yr BP (5). A well preserved statoblast observed at 41–42 cm, dated to 670–711 (6). Pleistocene-aged statoblast from 480–481 cm, dated to 15600–15700 (7).
